INTRODUCTION

FACT:  There are men living today that whole-heartedly believe the United States of America went downhill as a country since giving women the right to vote.

FACT:  It took women over 70 years to get the right to vote --- even when women had no right to vote. Communications were fragmented at that time and we no longer have that as an excuse. We need to be focused, tenacious and work together.

ISSUES

EQUAL PAY ACT (EPA)

FACT:  There are laws currently in place requiring equal pay for women but men do not believe women are as good as men, therefore, women do not receive equal pay. Imagine if your finances increased by a few to several thousands of dollars, annually, just by having companies comply with the law.

PROOF: Every year it is in the news --- as if it is news. Women continue to not be seen as valuable as men by getting paid much less than men. Hispanic or Latino and Black women get paid even less. Interestingly, since there are no Statute of Limitations (SOL’s) for this law, what would happen if women were to be paid retroactively for lost wages for all of those years? A crash in our economy?

As an example, according to FORBES :  “The gender gap for entry-level positions” has “women earning $52,266 compared to men's $64,022.” (https://www.forbes.com/advisor/business/gender-pay-gap-statistics/#:~:text=What%20is%20the%20wage%20gap,terms%20of%20take%2Dhome%20pay) this link should be attached to the word ‘FORBES’.

STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS FOR RAPE AND SEXUAL MOLESTATION OF WOMEN AND CHILDREN

FACT:  Rapists, sexual molesters and sex traffickers of women, children and elderly are protected by the Statute of Limitations. Yes, this sounds crazy but isn't it even more crazy to not have that removed? These Statute of Limitations need to be completely removed. Keeping them in place only encourages rape, sexual molestation and sex trafficking of women, children and our elderly to continue in our society. The Statute of Limitations clearly exists now only protect the criminal.

FACT:  We live in a society and a world where women, children and elderly continue to be emotionally, mentally and physically oppressed by men, generally, by violent physical and sexual abuse, rape and sex trafficking with limited accountability that is restricted by the Statute of Limitations with devastating psychological repercussions and sometimes death.

FACT:  If women are not fighting for their rights of equality, they are losing them. Our voices are either discounted or completely dismissed. Let me repeat: Our voices are either discounted or completely dismissed.

PROOF: Look around.

OUR GOAL

With so many issues needing to be addressed, we can legitimately ask ourselves, “where does one start?” The goal of this website is to focus on only a couple of key issues at a time, garnering the efforts of the masses supporting these issues, getting the changes necessary and moving on to the next couple of  issues. The truth is that there are too many serious, contentious issues to address and we end up being fragmented in our approach with few, solid solutions or ‘bandaid’ solutions. We need to consolidate our efforts and focus. We cannot state this any more seriously.

ALL ARE WELCOME…

This website is (em)powered by anyone willing to step into their power. It is not just for women. Everyone is welcome. It is everyone’s responsibility to stand up for women, children and what is right. It is not enough to have a handful of women (and even men) fighting for us, we all need to participate and let our voices be heard.

Click on the links below to find ways of stepping into your power and project updates and learn more about what you can do to make history or click below.

Feel free to read more if you like or proceed to the bottom of this web page to find out what you can do:

Overall, women and some men feel helpless, hopeless and even a bit frozen. Even the people that are supposed to be making changes are frozen as well or desperately holding onto their power. So, what can we do? We have numbed ourselves while waiting for those who have the power to make changes we so desperately need with our expectations and hopes evaporating as time continue to pass without progress. We sit here as a powerless society, feeling justice deteriorate beneath us.

How would we women live our lives if we were not oppressed? And how would we live our lives if we were not afraid?

Women continue to be suppressed all over the world and the women in the United States of America are looked to as role models and yet the truth is that we, too, are struggling for equality. It is time we take charge in taking care of ourselves, inspiring ourselves and each other around the world. We have become numb to our oppression and there are those that like it that way.

It is our hope to expand this website in offering links to other organizations, such as ours, in other countries created by women of those countries who are also stepping into their power and refusing to settle for anything less than being treated equally and with respect.

Along with participating in projects on this website, we will begin to educate ourselves and others on how and when to stand up for ourselves.

We need to be organized and focused, concentrating our efforts on creative, peaceful, strategic and effective solutions and never ever give up. It’s not that we don’t like men, we love men. We just want to be treated equally and with respect.

WOMEN matter. We will not be silenced.

WOMEN are powerful. WOMEN are healers. WOMEN are game-changers.

SOCIAL MEDIA AND FEEDBACK ON THIS WEBSITE

We need to make the world a better place – bring out the best in others, including ourselves. Tearing people down rips at the fabric of our society so let’s use our power to lift each other up and provide positive and constructive feedback.

Note:  The statements on this website are generalizations. We are grateful for all who support equal rights and want to protect women and children.

Equal Pay Act (EPA) Project

The Equal Pay Act (EPA) was signed by President John F. Kennedy on June 10, 1963 but there are no real ‘teeth’ to this law as it has been consistently violated since it passed.

One thought is to pass legislation that requires companies to be audited every five years or so, at their cost, and be required to pay those who did not receive equal pay for those years.

If you have any other ideas, please feel free to submit them to womenunite303@gmail.com.

In the meantime, write your U.S. Senator asking for legislation requiring companies be regularly audited and be required to make financial reparations.

Protect Our Women, Children and Elderly Project

PROTECT OUR WOMEN, CHILDREN AND ELDERLY PROJECT

There is so much to write in this section so we will try our best to keep it as simple as possible.

As the laws now stand, they protect the predator. All states function differently in many ways including this and this needs to stop. There needs to be a federal law that will be effective in protecting the most vulnerable or these acts will never end.

We need to have the Statute of Limitations (SOL’s) completely removed and have it be retroactive. We realize having them removed retroactively might be asking a lot of some people but we do need to ask ourselves….why not? What are we afraid of? (We address this more below under ‘If you want to read more’ section.) If we do not remove the SOL’s from the past and moving forward then we are guilty of protecting the predator no matter what we try to tell ourselves. It’s just a FACT and we need to let that sink in.

So please write your U.S. Senator by locating them in the following link and ask that all Statute of Limitations be removed for any violent and sexual assaults against women (and men), children and the elderly. Also write your state representatives.
